RWP proudly brings to the Town Hall Theatre stage this very popular classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde.

Starring Steve Hayes and Neil Jackson as the Ernests

Two young gents have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement into their lives. Worthing has invented a brother, Ernest, whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull life behind to visit Gwendolen. Moncrieff decides to take the name Ernest when visiting Worthing’s young and beautiful ward, Cecily. Things start to go awry when they end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered.

Its a fabulous show, a three act version, with split level staging which brings the actors very close to the audience.  Patrick Richmond-Ward, directing, is also playing the part of Lady Bracknell - and he does so with absolute precision.  With a lively score and strong supporting cast this show is not one to be missed.
