Residential Energy Code Sig Changes                Session 754

This session reviews the changes found in the most recent edition of the International Energy Conservation Code. The background behind many of the changes will be discussed to provide the participant with an understanding of the intent of the changes and how to apply it to their everyday work. Subjects covered in the class will include the code change process, building envelopes, mechanical systems, lighting systems and much more.

Instructors:      Troy Jones      Troy is an educator with the Sustainability & Energy Division at Shums Coda Associates, where he supports professionals in understanding and applying modern building-performance, energy-efficiency, and sustainability standards. He brings a practical, field-focused approach to instruction—translating complex code requirements into clear, actionable guidance for inspectors, plans examiners, and design teams. Troy’s work emphasizes accessible learning, consistent technical accuracy, and real-world application, helping jurisdictions strengthen their capacity to deliver safe, efficient, and resilient buildings.
