Sahaj Paather Gappo (“Colours of Innocence”) is a story of optimism and innocence in the face of adversity. It is an unabashed look into the life of a family that can barely afford the clothes on their back. But on the flip-side, it is a film about hope and the endless positivity that all children innately possess. The desperation is taken care of by the adults — the boys’ mother to be specific.
There are no so-called “big” names in the cast. But, the excellent direction and fantastic cinematography have taken Sahaj Paather Gappo to a different level. Based on Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay’s “Taal-nabami,” the movie won the National Film Award for the Best Child Actor.
