Synopsis
A group of students and faculty embark on a school trip to New York City. When the Head of the Theatre Department finds out that an old and run down theatre is slated for demolition, he insists that the class visit the theatre before the wrecking ball strikes. Once there, darkness hits the theatre and then without warning catastrophe seems to fall upon the school group. The students think that they are about to be demolished along with the theatre. As they try to escape, they realize that they are stuck and there is no way out. Little did the kids and faculty know that The Majestic Theater, which once housed The Phantom of the Opera, had a ghost of its own. The spirit of the Majestic’s architect and famed Broadway theatre developer, Irwin S. Chanin surfaces and is intent on teaching these students about the incredible history of Broadway. To do this, the spirit uses the musical theatre teacher and the kids as his puppets, making them perform various characters and songs, all while teaching them a thing or two about Broadway musicals. The kids slowly begin to realize just how incredible the theatre and the famous musicals are and agree to do what they can to save The Majestic Theater.
Do the kids save the theatre in time? Will the musical ghost ever let the class out of the old theatre? Come and find out for yourself! Join this talented cast of performers from Arcadia Academy of Music in Woodbridge, along with some seasoned professionals, as they perform well-known musical numbers from musical theatre and pop repertoire, accompanied by a live band.
