A Western noir, wrapped inside a story about protecting the sacred ground of Australia’s native people. An indigenous detective arrives in a frontier mining town on a missing persons inquiry. A simple light duty investigation opens a web of crime and corruption implicating the mining boss, the mayor, and Aboriginal Land Council. Features Aboriginal actor David Gulpilil, the writer and star of the multi-award winning Charlie’s Country, who began his career in film in Walkabout.
