A modern-day comedy about race and adoption. A couple in their mid-thirties has been waiting to adopt a child for a long time. The wife’s Senegalese parents even have a name ready for their future grandson: Lamine. Despite the curious opposition of the infant’s case worker, the adoption agency finally calls with good news—but their future son’s name is Benjamin and he has lovely blue eyes and blond hair!
Speaker: Deb Olshever, co-owner of Adoption Associates in Newton Highlands, a group of psychotherapists committed to supporting families and individuals pre- and post-adoption (www.adoptionassociates.org).
