OUTstanding. OUTdoor youth dance and music! ‘Stepping OUT’ is a new outdoor dance platform unlike any we have seen in Yorkshire before. Part 1 is performed by the CAPA College family of dance companies alongside live music, featuring:

‘Icarus’ choreographed by Southpaw Dance Company, performed by CAPA College. Including an impressively mythic set of wings, blistering lifting and contact work, and Southpaw’s distinctive mix of intense physicality and narrative, Icarus is a dance theatre interpretation of the classic Greek myth. A hybrid of choreography and puppetry allows the audience to experience the tale of Icarus first hand, complete with 16-foot wings that enable Icarus to soar through the skies. Obsessed with the skies, we see Icarus in his quest to achieve flight, using dance and the distinctive, highly physical language that Southpaw has become known for.

‘Unapologetic’ by CHARGE Boys - A celebration of the success of the CHARGE Boys’ programme, showcasing performers’ enthusiasm for dance. ‘Unapologetic’ presents the power, vulnerability and connection of the group. “I'm unapologetic not because I'm strong-willed or overconfident, I'm unapologetic because this is it; this is my life”
