About Us

Then...

Castaway Youth Theatre was founded in 1999 to offer an opportunity to young people across the North-West and North Wales to be in a production that would be performed on a professional stage once a year. It would offer young people the chance to work as a team, make new friends and learn new skills.

Castaway put on several fantastic productions at the Gateway Theatre in Chester from 1999 to 2007 including Bugsy Malone, West Side Story, Oliver! and Copacabana to name a few. Many were nominated for NODA awards.

Castaway unfortunately had to close when the Gateway Theatre was closed for good and there was no longer a professional stage in Chester where Castaway was based.

Now...

Castaway Theatre Company was reformed as a charity in February 2018. It's aim is to provide an opportunity for young people (aged 9-21 years) across Cheshire, Merseyside, North Wales and beyond, the opportunity to put on a yearly musical theatre production to a professional standard in a professional theatre.

Productions will be once a year and parts will be given after an audition process. More information on auditions can be found on our 'Auditions' page.
