Out of the Box Theatre Company presents
Miss You Like Hell

Book and lyrics by Quiara Alegría Hudes

Music and lyrics by Erin McKeown

November 4-13, 2022

When a whip-smart, deeply imaginative teenager agrees to take a road trip with her free-spirited Latina mother, neither can imagine where it will take them. Chance encounters with a medley of characters along the way brings them closer to understanding what sets them apart—and what connects them forever. At the heart of the story is a mother-daughter relationship complicated and threatened by immigration policies. MISS YOU LIKE HELL reminds us that musicals have the power to explore the exposed territory where political becomes personal. Featuring compelling original songs that are every bit as diverse and eclectic as America, MISS YOU LIKE HELL is a new musical that exudes the joy, love and frustration of being a family in a changing country.

POWERFUL & COMPLEX. A FRESH TAKE on the American road story, filled with people and ideas we rarely get to see onstage.” – The New York Times

A timely political edge, an ethnically diverse cast, and a score by a singer-songwriter who knows how to rock.” – Variety

NOTE: Contains adult language and mature themes.

There are no social distancing requirements in place for seating. There are no vaccine or testing requirements at this time. Masks are encouraged, but not required. We are continuing our mitigation efforts. The HVAC system for the theater is set to bring in 100% fresh air, we are using CDC-recommended MERV-13 filters, the air is turned over 7.35 times an hour, and we also have portable HEPA air purifiers, and our generous use of hand sanitizer.  (thank you to the Santa Barbara Foundation!) All of our staff are fully vaccinated, and performers are either vaccinated or tested negative before performing.

You can use either e-tickets, print-at-home tickets, or request Will Call tickets to be waiting for you at the Box Office. If you have any questions, please email Executive Director Teri Ball at info@centerstagetheater.org.

Thank you to everyone in the community who supported us through this prolonged intermission. We would not still be here without your support.
