UCSB Dance Company presents
Full Circle Redux

May 25 – 26, 2023

Just returned from their European Tour, the UCSB Dance Company offers Full Circle Redux, a fresh look at the Full Circle concert which premiered in March at the Hatlen Theater. The program of seven female choreographers, all with circular ties to the Department of Theater and Dance over a fully rounded span of years. The program includes three commissioned works for the UCSB Dance Company, with two composers creating original music, and four remounting of successful works.

The roster of choreographers includes: Christina McCarthy, a graduate of the department, and now a multi-disciplinary artist and faculty member at UCSB; Nancy Colahan, a former professional dancer, beloved choreographer, and recently retired faculty member; Danah Bella, a graduate of the department, now Professor and Chair of Dance at John Hopkins Peabody Institute; Weslie Ching, a UCSB graduate and an independent choreographer in Santa Barbara; Gianna Burright, a UCSB graduate, is most recently a 2023 Carmel Dance Festival Choreography Fellow; Madison Olandt, a guest choreographer from Los Angeles, co-choreographed a work for the UCSB Dance Company last season and returns to create a new work on the female and non-binary comprised company; Amanda Tran received her BFA in Choreography and Performance from UCSB and now lives and works in LA. A broad spectrum of human sensibility, seen through the lens of these female choreographers, promises to entice the senses and the mind through prisms of intelligence, insight, and beauty.

There are no social distancing requirements in place for seating. There are no vaccine or testing requirements at this time. Masks are encouraged but not required. We are continuing our mitigation efforts. The HVAC system for the theater is set to bring in 100% fresh air. We are using CDC-recommended MERV-13 filters, the air is turned over 7.35 times an hour, and we also have portable HEPA air purifiers, and our generous use of hand sanitizer.  (thank you to the Santa Barbara Foundation!) All of our staff are fully vaccinated, and performers are either vaccinated or tested negative before performing.

You can use either e-tickets, print-at-home tickets, or request Will Call tickets to be waiting for you at the Box Office. If you have any questions, please email Executive Director Teri Ball at info@centerstagetheater.org.

Thank you to everyone in the community who supported us through this prolonged intermission. We would not still be here without your support.
