After spending nearly a decade in hiatus, Santa Fe based singer/songwriter Delphia is pursuing a music career once again, and quickly garnering serious recognition. The soul inspired piano pop performer is hosting a fundraiser on June 25, 2016 at the Scottish Rite, opened to the public.

Delphia - Let Y

On Tuesday, June 7, the first self-produced single 'Let You Go,' will be released, mixed by three time Grammy award winning producer Brent Kolatalo[Lana Del Rey, Alicia Keys, John Legend], of New York City.  In an attempt to bring her single and her next album in to the hands of a full orchestra, the aspiring artist is showcasing her new music in a very different format.

“This show is unique,” comments Delphia, “it has been several decades since the music industry has embraced 'complete package' performers; most artists today either perform as a vocalist or as a musician, and rarely do they write their own lyrics or compose their own arrangements.”The show will feature 17 of Delphia's newest compositions, played and sung to complete arraingments created by the artist.

Delphia is no stranger to wearing many hats. Prior to retiring from the industry at the age of 23, she had published 200 songs, had racked up over one hundred million listens on major national network television, collaborated in big name commercials, toured across the country, and played at some of the most iconic venues between New England and Texas.

After deciding she was ready for a more stable lifestyle, Delphia, then performing under her given name of Trisha O'Keefe, went in to a hiatus. “It was initially supposed to be forever, but then the urge came, and I needed to create my art. As the years passed, it became harder to make the leap of faith, but finally the day came, and I just said 'it's now or never.'”

Delphia's recent style is best described as a jazz influenced pop-rock act with an emphasis placed on her powerful, unique contralto voice and deeply emotional, cathartic lyrics. “My songs are almost always centered around the emotional struggles women feel, but rarely express. Every time I perform, I look up and see a handful of women wiping tears away. I know my music is powerful, almost therapeutic.” With the changing face of the music industry, many musicians are grasping on to new methods to be heard and to be self-sufficient. Delphia goes on to explain 'in the pre-digital days, a label was everything, in today's world, an artist has to wear many hats and become more dynamic within the local communities.' The artist has a big commitment to animals, and animal welfare, boasting she owns eight pets, all of which were rescued. Part of her community commitment is giving back to animal efforts, her upcoming concert will be donating 10% of all proceeds to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter.
