The Florida Chicken Expo is an educational event to share the newest and most pertinent, science-based information, delivered by experts in each area of poultry farming.

Dr. Gary Butcher and Dr. Richard Miles, expterts in poultry diseases and nutrition, share their knowledge to make you a better flock owner. The 2018 event will also feature Dr. Brigid McCrea, Dr. Joseph Hess and Dr. Ken Macklin from the University of Auburn Poultry Sciences Department. Topics for the upcoming Expo are as follows (listed by speaker, not the order on event day):

Poultry Keeping Myths, External Parasites, Quality of Life/Euthanasia, Breeding Through Brooding, Biosecurity, Poultry Viruses/Avian Flu, Food Borne Bacteria, Internal Parasites, GMO & Organic feed, Salmonella and Egg Safety, Creating a business plan, Income Taxes/IRS Form F, Predator Proofing. Cliff Benjamin CPA will be on site for tax questions and Florida Wildlife Conservation will be on site.

The 2017, inaugural event, was a great success, and through feedback we know to advertise our event as more of a Poultry 201 educational event. If you have burning questions, you'll likely get your answers, and more.

Tanya Stiffler and Gayle Smith are both flock owners. Their quest to find science-based solutions, to their flock issues, is the inspiration for the Expo.  Fortunately, Dr. Butcher and Dr. Miles' passion for education, is the reason the two PhDs will return to speak at the 2nd Expo.  The speakers and agenda are currently being compiled. Expect more experts in more fields to be added, soon.
