Sam Ellefson is one of Denver’s fastest-rising stand-up comics — bringing Midwest charm, razor-sharp wit, and stories that hit way too close to home. Originally from a “suburb of a suburb” in Minnesota, Sam took his small-town roots to the Pacific Northwest where he launched his career by producing a grassroots college comedy show that earned two Northwest Emmy nominations (yes — real ones).
Now based in Denver, Sam is a regular at the world-famous Comedy Works and a staple on some of the best stages west of the Mississippi. He’s been featured at top comedy festivals including the High Plains Comedy Festival, and in 2025 he was crowned Comedy Fort’s Funniest Comic.
His debut comedy special, “Minnesota Nice,” was featured in Paste Magazine and is available now on YouTube — showcasing his smart, relatable humor and effortless crowd connection.
With his clean, high-energy style and Midwest warmth, Sam delivers a night of big laughs that everyone can enjoy.
