Hero's Ruck will be having an event located at a

Kent Central Gateway Veterans Memorial

. Sign-ups will be on East Erie Street bewtween South Depeyster St. and Haymaker Pkwy.  We ask that all park downtown or in ther Parta Parking Deck (201 E. Erie St.) in Kent, Ohio 44240.

Sign ups will be at 8AM. please come early to get Parked and signed in well before 9AM..

The Ruck Event will start at 9:00AM with a little "pomp and circumstance".

We will begin our ceremonies:

Pledge of Allegiance

Speeches (limited)

Ruck Begins

Bring your Own Ruck with Your own specified weight.

(many plan to add weight by adding items for the APL, such as dog bones, play toys, cat or dog food, etc.)

The Ruck will go through the Kent State University Campus using the "Lester A Lefton Esplanade"'

The route if you finish, goes to the KSU's DIX Stadium take the Parta Bus back downtown or if with a companion animal, we will transport you back. 

There will be 2 other shorter options for walkers not wanting to Ruck the full 2.75 miles.

Lunch Will be Served to all with a Wrist Band for the Ruck @ The American Legion Portage Post 496 1945 Mogadore Road Kent, Ohio.

Door Prizes Starting After

DJ From 11:15 AM to 3 PM

After the Ruck, all participants are invited to the American Legion of Kent, Ohio to have lunch and comeradery, with a little music.  There will be other groups with tables, including Veteran organizations, first responder groups, vendors and sponsors.

We are looking for sponsors that would love to help with our endeavors.  All proceeds go to helping Vets and First Responders aquire a companion animal most exclusively dogs and cats from the Portage County Animal Protective League.
