Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning comedy is a "worm's-eye view" of Shakespeare's Hamlet. This existentialist tragic comedy thrusts two minor courtiers into the limelight, where they navigate a world of absurd coincidences and inescapable destiny. Trapped in a universe where a coin flip lands on "heads" 92 times in a row, the duo must reconcile their own vague memories with the madcap antics of the royal court unfolding offstage. They eventually realize they are mere pawns in a larger tragedy – one that leads them to a tragic but inevitable end.
