Las Cruces Community Theatre Reviews

I love your performances Clue was great, but the thermostat or what ever was going on was cold, then so warm I was nodding off.

It's wonderful to have such an excellent live theatre in our community.

The shows are great. The actors are very talented. The volunteers are super. The audience is so warm and supportive. I love going to the shows.

We thoroughly enjoyed the play and absolutely loved everyone’s performances. This was our first time to the theater and will be back again. We absolutely love Rose whom we came to see last night. But everyone else’s performances blew us away as well. Such a great asset to our community.

This production was absolutely amazing! From the amazing theatre set design, to the wardrobe. The extremely talented cast is what truly made this production what it was. The passion of the actors and actresses made you truly feel the storyline of this masterpiece.

Old facility but extremely well maintained and perfect for a cozy theatre experience. No bad seat in the house.

 Wonderful Venue good AC too!!

This theater experience is a gem. Plan to be a supporter beyond our season tickets!

The cast and set was amazing. The only issue I had was hearing some of the actors otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

So fun i love Dracula its great to see a great play version of it right here in las cruces the entire ensemble was so good.

This show is Broadway quality! The acting was phenomenal and the attention to detail in everything from the set and costumes to the lights and sounds was superb! Bravo!

Everything from directing to performing was perfection. It was truly an amazing show! Did have some trouble hearing some of the dialog, not sure why. Didn’t get a program for my scrapbook…. :(

Well-organized event for patrons; easy in and easy out.

The best Civic theater production I have ever seen! Glorious and fun with tons of talent. Fantastic direction.

The play was very well done. The actors were on point. I loved the crazy dude in the Asylum. The scenery was magnificent. I did know the story from a movie made in the 90s with Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder and Gary Oldman as Dracula and I really felt transformed back to my youth with this play. Thank you.

Great production. The role of Renfield played by Emily Caldwell and Dracula played by Niko Goyatté

I overall loved the story!! The actors were outstanding in all their performances. The only thing is I felt it ran for too long. Other than that, great work putting it together 🙌🏼

Renfield and Dracula were highlights of the show. Phenomenal actors.

I enjoyed the show however there were times that I could not understand what was being said. I had a hard time following the 1st act but found that I caught up in the second act. I wish I had known the story better as think that would have helped.

Dracula: Casting, script, special effects, makeup, set design, full use of the stage--all this set the bar higher for what I have come to expect from community theater. I should have reserved a seat further back, to prevent the Wimbledon effect, to take a better view of the entire stage. Kudos all--cast, crew, and director!

This production was absolutely amazing! From the amazing theatre set design, to the wardrobe. The extremely talented cast is what truly made this production what it was. The passion of the actors and actresses made you truly feel the storyline of this masterpiece.

The preformace of Dracula was phenomenal! The set and the actors were so exceptionally good and we were pulled in immediately. I give this performance 5 stars.

Great acting and the sounds, lights, and props all combined to make it spooky and cause you to jump at all the right places. A very enjoyable experience,

Dracula was a hit! Acting, directing and stage props were spectacular. A show worth seeing. Get tickets before it's too late!

Great acting and costumes. Fabulous set design! Sound problems. Actors did not appear to be wearing microphones?

Could not hear most of the dialog. The actors had good rapport between them, but it was as tho they were having private conversations. The accents and speed of speaking also contributed to lack of understanding. Otherwise, good show. And acting was great. I especially liked Emily as Renfield.

i was all and more than we expected. Bravo.

Sitting in the back on the right side the actors were hard to understand. Some projected very well and others not so much. Will try seats in a different location for the next play to see if this helps.

 Awesome show!

Some of the dialogue could not be heard. Overall, it was very enjoyable.

This was our 2nd time seeing a play at LCCT. This was greater than the last. We brought guests and all 4 of us really enjoyed this performance. The band was great too. You could see how much hard work & dedication went into each performance. Made you laugh and cry at times. My husband and I hope to purchase season tickets so we can be sure to see more great local talent. We understand why it was a sold out performance. Wonderful!!!

I noticed that I have only left 5 stars in all of my ratings... that is a good sign. Community theatre is not Broadway they have a much higher hill to climb - resources are always limited so they have to get the most out of what they do. This group works their butts off and they deliver an amazingly excellent product. They should be commended and we should be filling every seat for every production. Bravo!

If there were more stars you would have them all. The show was incredible, fabulous and all the other superlatives that exist. It is the best show we have ever seen and being from NY, that includes Broadway. We never heard of the show and I was skeptical that a musical was done about 9/11. LCCT made the right choice especially that this year is the 25th anniversary of that tragedy. What an uplifting memorial the play was to that event. Much, much applause to everyone.

Outstanding production from direction to stage management to musical support to individual actors' microphones. The acting, singing and dancing were topnotch with a minimum of mistakes did not interfere with the continuity of the musical. All involved can rightly take deep satisfaction in how well they entertained the audience. The only disappointment was the lack of programs at the final performance leaving patrons in the dark as to the identity of the cast and crew. d

Good music. Upbeat play, well executed with excellent performances all around.

 Amazing performance.

Really enjoyed the show. Great acting and singing. Las Cruces has some great talent.

Kat and the entire crew did a fantastic job. The energy was incredible and the acting was on fire. I can’t wait to visit again to see another show! Onward!

Best play I've ever seen in my 47 years in Las Cruces. The performers were in perfect harmony and the show was perfectly directed. Too bad it won't continue for a few more performances.

I had so much fun! I recently discovered Come From Away and it’s definitely become one of my favorite musicals so it was amazing to have the opportunity to see it live!

 excellent excellent would see again!

WOW, WOW, WOW! This was a FANTASTIC production! I highly recommend it!

Casting, directing, principals singing voices were all terrific!

As a Canadian who remembers this story very well -- and having spent a lot of time around Newfoundlanders -- it is especially touching to get to experience this performance in some of the furthest reaches of the USA. It's no wonder it has sold out; who doesn't like a feel-good story? Especially in these difficult times. Kudos to all!

 Lots of fun. Well-done!

Very funny and acting was great. Loved the signing of the 3 main characters. You guys put on the best musicals. I brought friends that had never seen a play and loved it. We are all hooked on the entertainment. Keep bringing on the hits. !!!

This was fantastic! This was the first play we saw at LCCT, and I'm def going to keep an eye out for other plays! LOVED IT!

Excellent. No one missed a beat. Singing was superb by all. Well rehearsed.

WOW! Just WOW! I didn't think anything could top Clue or Wonka, but here we are! The incredible talent displayed in this production was so great! We new from the first 1 minute that this was going to be exceptional, even for the LCCT, who has amazing productions anyway! We purchased our new season tickets and are so excited to share in more experiences next year! What a way to end your season! Bravo!

The show was fantastic! The entire cast was did such an excellent job. I haven’t laughed so much! Excellent singing, dancing, acting. Bravo!

hard work and heartfelt. amazing choreography and especially loved the seamless set changes.

 Fabulous!

 Outstanding!!!!

The energy of the cast was wonderful. The music and staging was also terrific. The three women leads were fabulous! Sadly, much of the dialog was unintelligible in row J. They were all 'miked' but that didn't help. Perhaps I'll only get seats in the first 3-5 rows for the next performance!

Enjoyed the staging, directing, acting, etc. Delightful community theater. To bump it to the next level, would suggest the casting director test voice harmony as well as individual voices. The weak spot in this production was in the songs where all three leads were supposed to be singing together in harmony. The various voices did not hamonize well. Otherwise, terrific!

Great play and wonderful performers. Thank you. I laughed and laughed. We have come a long wayIII

 Excellent as always!

I gave it a standing ovation. I haven't given a standing ovation since clue. Every single member of this cast was perfect. The chorus dancers were fantastic, and the main characters were spot on and so dedicated! They really brought the show to life. And the show itself is just great! I haven't laughed so much in so long! Definitely a must-see!

An absolute must see show!! You will not be disappointed! Great job by everyone involved and big congratulations to Luis on a great job done with 9 to 5! All performances were great. Each and every single performance was great!!

always the best show in town

Once again,Director Katalina Hadfield knocked it out of the park with her creativity and guidance in the play of 'Come From Away'; absolutely excellent! The actors' performances, in all, musical pieces were outstanding and in-sync. BRAVO!

 great excellent

although acting was good, seemed to go very slow iin first half.

 Great performance

 Another great production.

 Very good. Well portrayed

Great play. And the cast NAILED it. Kudos to all.

The acting, play direction, props and costuming were outstanding!

awesome job, as always! Message very clear and timely...thank you! Only suggestion is at times hard to hear and understand what actors were saying(mostly Terry hard to hear. She did a great job tho!)

Great story. Performances very good. Brought friends who had never been to a play and she was in tears at the end. Enjoyed so much will be back for the next one.

We thoroughly enjoyed the play! My husband, who turned 83 on the day we saw it, had played the senator in his high school’s production! The acting was great…..especially Mrs. Savage! We were sad that more seats were not filled…..people missed out on a wonderful evening of entertainment. We are looking forward to “9 to 5”

 Good job!

 Fabulous!

Heartwarming play about the human condition. Big characters that were well performed by the cast. Its a bit long at 2:45, but never felt the time.

Great cast; great script; great directing; great acting.

All of the actors excelled and the set was impressive! I feel the play itself, although lovely, is too long and could easily be trimmed by 15 minutes or more. I've never liked the bottleneck at the Theater's exit. There should be a 2nd exit for safety reasons. My husband won't go to performances there anymore for that reason; he feels it's a dangerous fire hazard.

Fantastic all around with a delightfully surprising end.

This play was extremely entertaining! Each character was so unique and interesting. I was sure from the beginning Mrs. Savage was sharp as a tack🤗

Actors shouted their lines rather than projecting them. As a whole, I thought it was over-acted and frankly, I fell asleep toward the end of the first act. Looking forward to 9-5.

Ok totally got me with that one! Very entertaining!

The acting as usual was very good. Especially liked "Helga" the maid!

Great cast, great delivery! Really nice evening’s entertainment.

Fun and enjoyable. "Who done it?" Plays are always nice

Great production all the way around, director, cast, and set design. I had never heard of this play until I came to see it. Who done its are always fun! Thank you!

It proved to be a great Sunday afternoon performance. Great to have local participants share their fine talents. Thank you.

Never expected the ending. Great acting. Thank you

A little slow first half. However, what a surprising twist 2nd half Great actors. The maid was very funny. Lead actress terrific. Friend and husband good

The show was great. We were thrilled with the ending. This theater is a great asset to Las Cruces. Keep up the great work you do.

Thrilling and suspenseful with delightful characters!

The performance was fabulous and the actors did a great job!

Very good cast and acting, loved the plot twist at the end- "Did not see that coming"!

 excellent

The cast was great. A fun show to watch and enjoy a night out with friends.

I’ve always watched the story as a movie; first time seeing it performed on stage. It was well done.

We took friends and family to see White Christmas and so glad we did. The cast did a fantastic job. I used to watch this movie as a kid and loved it. The LCCT performance of it did not disappoint. Thank you!

OMG did the actors ever do a fantastic job! This is my favorite Christmas of all time and they did not disappoint. The singing and costumes were fabulous as well. To veeryone involved with the production - kudos! Merry Christmas

Nope. We left at intermission to go hear Christmas music somewhere else. We DID super enjoy the adorable children.

 We loved it!

The enthusiasm the cast shows is infectious. The cast was very talented including the kids. You are a great asset to the community.

A fine performance by all of the cast.

Wow what talent we have in Las Cruces. The singing was wonderful.

Absolutely exceptional. The talent, dedication, and passion of every performer, director, and crew shone through. You could feel how much heart and hard work went into this show. Knowing this was a volunteer production makes is even more impressive. It is truly outstanding, and we fully enjoyed it.

An amazing Christmas gift... Great show...

The production was wonderful. The cast was talented and awesome. Thank you for an avenue to enhance the Christmas spirit.

Was a very enjoyable play. The cast was terrific!!

Perfect and loved it…will be going back to watch another one.

This was another outstanding performance by the cast of LCCT! The vocalists were incredible and the music was fun to hear again, 40+ years after the original movie was released. Don’t miss it!

 Enjoyed laughing

 We loved it!

Awful. I didn't see any humor, just a bunch of off-color comments that seemed to just be added for effect and not content. After this production, I had decided never to go to another LCCT production. I wanted to leave at intermission but my guest thought it would get better. At the end, the guest said we should have left at intermission -- it got worse.

 Great cast and production overall!

 Very entertaining!

Great fun as usual. Our local talent is amazing. Even the intermission was entertaining!

 Great acting, very enjoyable

 Cute and funny.

Great show. Everyone was hilarious. Definitely gonna come see another show with my wife, hopefully bring some friends. - Stratton J. Davis

Unfortunately, a very mediocre comedy that did not wear well in the 35 years since it was first performed. The energetic young cast did the best they could to lend the play some gravitas.

Horrible writing, foul unnecessary language. We felt for the actors. It was so bad we left at intermission.

1st half was a little slow. The 2nd half was terrific and very funny. Great actors

Have not recommended it to friends. Did not like language. We noticed people who left at intermission and we thought of doing that but we had invited guests so we did not say anything. We have enjoyed other LCCT performances much better!!

 This was a Broadway performance!

 Unable to sttend

The gender bending roles didn't work for me even though all performances were good. There was no way I could see the pretty woman playing the writer as a man. Sorry

weird...weird and confusing...we did not care for the performers before the show...too weird! who were the people in their underwear at the end? This should have been the best production of the season, as it has so much to offer. So disappointed!!

 Great Show

Enjoyed the show and the experience. Very talented cast! Cabaret

good presentation but not what I expected.

 Fabulous show!

GREAT SHOW!! LCCT does it again.

 Wonderful cast, backdrop and singing!

Another FANTASTIC LCCT play! Katalina Hadfield directed this play so artfully. Niko Gonzales was amazing as the emcee! Wish I could list all the actors individually, but space would not allow. What I will say is that every single cast member put their hearts and souls into this performance and each one of them were truly wonderful. Every performance was sold out and if you passed on seeing it, you have no idea of what you missed! Great job to everyone involved!!!!
