In August 2020 I will climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. As part of this huge challenge, I am hoping to raise some much needed funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity: a vital organisation who fund their very high operating costs solely on public donations. Each mission costs a minimum of £2,500 and the annual cost of keeping the aircraft, vehicles, crews and kit ready to respond to emergencies is around £9 million. The air ambulance crews are highly trained medical professionals who bring the services of an A&E department to some of the most challenging emergencies, from Road Traffic Collisions to incidents in remote places. The air ambulance teams are undoubtedly a vital part of our emergency services and are much-respected by the public and other professionals alike.
