Make Your Own Gratitude Journal

Sunday 28th January 2018

12.00 – 4.00pm

£22.50

(Please note this workshop is for ages 16+ only)

The conscious act of acknowledging gratitude releases Dopamine in your brain, the bodies feel good chemical and stimulates the hypothalamus part of the brain which is responsible for many bodily functions. So, showing gratitude on a regular basis can lead to less stress and anxiety, better sleep, more energy for action and a generally better functioning body.  Hard to believe…and yet it’s been scientifically proven that getting into the habit of showing gratitude for things, even those that might seem tiny everyday things, engages your brain in a virtuous cycle and leads to better wellbeing.

How lovely would it be, to sit down at the end (or beginning) of the day and write down some things you are grateful for in a beautiful hand made book, made by your own fair hand. Or maybe you can think of a friend or loved one who you would like to make the book for, to encourage their path to wellbeing. During this workshop you will be guided in making a hand made notebook and decorating the cover in your own personal style; a choice of materials will be available for this. The cost of the workshop includes all the materials and tools that you will need and some light refreshments.

Below are some answers to what I am guessing could be FAQ’s but if there is anything else you would like to ask or discuss with me, please do not hesitate to email me: bec@beccybenedict.co.uk

FAQ:

Where does the workshop take place? The Rounded Arts studio is at: StudionAme. 2 Brougham Street, Leicester. LE1 2BA. The studios are fairly close to the city centre, just across the roundabout from Phoenix Cinema and St George’s Retail Park. We are about a 10 – 15 minute walk from Leicester train station or from Leicester coach station – or a few minutes taxi ride. There are a variety of parking options nearby, such as street parking around the Cultural Quarter, a big parking lot on Clyde Street (next to the Musician Pub) and then a few streets further away if the multi-storey car park at Lee Circle. After 4pm (Monday – Saturday) and all day (Sunday) there is some street parking adjacent to the studios on Crafton Street East.

Is there disabled access? The Rounded Arts studio is on the ground floor of the building and fully accessible, however the toilet facility on this floor is not suitable for wheelchair access at this time (something I hope will eventually be resolved). If you have any other requirements that you are unsure I can meet, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Can you cater for special dietary requirements? Hopefully! There will be a selection of hot and cold drinks and cakes or biscuits on offer. When booking your place, you will be asked as part of the booking process to specify and special dietary requirements, i.e. vegan / gluten free etc. We will do our best to cater for all dietary requirements but may contact you if we need further information.

Are you able to offer any concessions? Unfortunately, at this time I am not able to offer any concessionary prices. As my practice and my teaching studio evolve I hope to be able to do so at future events were required.
