Young Frankenstein
Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan
Music and Lyrics by Mel Brooks
Original Direction & Choreography by Susan Stroman
Mel Brooks’ electrifying musical Young Frankenstein will have you in stitches with laughter and tapping your feet to such hits as Puttin’ on the Ritz, The Transylvania Mania, and He Vas My Boyfriend. It’s perfect family fun just in time for Halloween. From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation, The Producers, comes this wickedly inspired tale of Frankenstein based on the Oscar-nominated smash hit movie. Frederick Frankenstein, grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania and sets out to bring honor to his family name by shocking his grandfather’s legacy back to life! Together with the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a curvaceous lab assistant, Inga, Frederick journeys back into the mysterious laboratory and exclaims “It’s alive”! A lightning storm of hilarity ensues as the monster escapes. Every bit as relevant to audience members who will remember the original as it will be to newcomers, Young Frankenstein is scientifically proven, monstrously good entertainment. Award-winning theater veterans Ray A. Rochelle and Rikki Lugo direct and choreograph a company of professional musical theatre actors in this exclusive, one weekend only production. Music Directed by Maestro Richard Allen. Executive Producer Bobby Hundley. Performances: Saturday evening, October 20th at 8:00pm and Sunday matinee, October 21st at 2:00pm.
