At the dawn of civilization, one pre-historic tribe survives the many trials of prehistoric life under the wise leadership of Jemilla, who taught her people to express themselves, rather than bashing each others' heads with rocks. But one member of the tribe doen't seem to fit in: Zazzalil. She's always trying to invent things and make life easier... for herself. While out hatching her latest scheme, Zazzalil stumbles upon the most important discovery in history; one that will pit her tribe against wooly mammoths, saber-toothed tigers and change the world forever. She'll travel from omega to alpha and become... the Firebringer! By the use of musicality and irreverent humor, FIREBRINGER deals with the ramifications of what new inventions and discovery can bring to a tribe, its’ culture and the world.

Building on its’ reputation of mounting musical theatre productions that have rarely been seen, but critically praised, The FPAC (The Foothill Performing Arts Council) will present the Southern California / Los Angeles Area premiere of FIREBRINGER: a new stone-age musical, for a limited 6 weekend run at Theatre Unlimited Studios, in No-Ho.

On the heels of its’ two recent 2019 Valley Theatre Awards for their lauded musical production of The Theory of Relativity, (Best Direction of a Musical- Timothy J Borquez and Best Lighting Design - Jesse Santos), the FPAC has found a gem of a production to present this Summer. “We are truly thankful for the reception our theatre company has received from the No-Ho Theatre community’s family of artists and patrons, after our inaugural Fall 2018 No-Ho production of The Theory of Relativity and the Spring 2018 production of The Spitfire Grill.”, explains Timothy J Borquez, Artistic Director of the FPAC. “Theory, was a truly captivating piece that was poignant, vulnerable and immersive, so we wanted to ‘flip the switch’ with our next musical production and just bring something outrageously fun and irreverent. We’ve found that in FIREBRINGER.”

Borquez adds, “All of us at The FPAC are big fans of what STARKID has been doing, so with the advent of the viral following that FIREBRINGER brought on itself (see this viral clip on You Tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2EI65ZEqYQ) and the fact that it has never been presented in the Los Angeles area theatre community before, it was a no-brainer for us to choose this piece to bring to No-Ho.”

FIREBRINGER was originally produced by the theatre troupe STARKID Productions, who have become ‘cult-fan famous’ for their hilarious production of A Very (Harry) Potter Musical.
It is presented with permission by STARKID Productions, with music and lyrics by Meredith Stepien and Mark Swiderski, an,d book by Matt Lang, Nick Lang, and Brian Holden, with additional writing by Meredith Stepien.

FIREBRINGER will run for 6 weekends at the Theatre Unlimited Studios, 10943 Camarillo St, North Hollywood, CA 91602; July 19 through August 25.

The FPAC production will be Directed by Timothy J Borquez, with Vocal Direction by Matthew Park and Choreography by Anne Marie Osgood.

Music Production will be Supervised by Alex Borquez.
