"How to Play" Class for TTRPGs | The Witch's Cottage

Have you ever wanted to be a part of the world of TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplaying Game) and D&D but haven't found the right group, the time, or the right people to help teach you?

 

Well! You are in luck! The Cottage is beginning an education curriculum for the realm of TTRPG! 

 

This class is our "How To Play" Class! We will learn:

• The Anatomy of a Character Sheet

• The Basics of Roleplay/Character Interaction

• Table Etiquette

• Character Creation

• Playing the Game (we will run a 3-Room Dungeon Game to put all of those newly learned skills into a practical setting at the end of the class).

Food and beverage are available for purchase during your game!! (please note that an autogratuity charge of 20% will be added to all food and beverage purchases, allowing us to provide top tier service during your game. Thank you for your cooperation!)

At The Witch's Cottage, we have an in house container/code of conduct agreement that will be provided to you before your session, and collected with signatures. Thank you for being a part of creating safe spaces!

Nick (he/him) first encountered DnD when walking through the woods as a 10 year-old boy and seeing some older boys playing an odd game with a book and some dice— They told him they were fighting a horde of trolls. When he asked if he could join they said “Ew! No! Go away.” And he did.

 

A decade later some friends asked if he wanted to join his first campaign (4th edition)! His angst compelled him to play a Tiefling Warlord. Now Nick has been behind the DM screen for over a decade running anything from homebrews to modules to 1-shots.  He focuses on narrative-style play, like Dimension 20, using his acting & improv roots to fully engage a table.  He thinks a perfect moment of DnD is curated by great snacks, silly bits with friends, a whimsical land and an audacious player trying to nat-20 their way through hijinks!
