Helen and Anna come from completely different backgrounds and families. Helen and her brother are forced to leave their home after their father stops working and can't stop drinking. Anna's parents die during the Spanish Flu Epidemic; but they do have one thing in common, they are both are living in New York City in January 1920, and they both find new homes with the Children's Aid Society. Their home is about to change once again, however, when a sponsor offers to send them and their friends on The Orphan Train to Texas, where they hope to be adopted by new and loving families. Helen and Anna plan to be adopted together, but fate has different plans. Helen is taken in by Pastor Smith and his family while, miles away, Anna is very quickly put to work by Miss Ethel, who seems to have taken her in as a hired hand. Will the girls be able to reunite and live together? Will Anna be able to find the love she so desperately craves? Will Helen be able to find her brother and believe that God really does love her? Join us on The Orphan Train to Texas and see what happens with our two young heroines!
