All of the activities will take place at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Fellowship Hall about 20 miles south of Canaan Valley, W.V.
We will be starting the weekend on Friday July 21st with a workshop on medicinal mushrooms with Tradd Cotter, time and details coming soon. The workshop will be 50.00, and worth every penny. Tradd's workshops are normally 150-200. One of the benefits of attending our foray and being a member is that we sponsor our workshops and make them affordable for you. Space will be limited, so register early. By the way,Tradd has been making medicinal mushroom beer and bringing it to festivals and forays. Let's hope he brings some to W.V.! After the workshop there will be an optional Pizza & Salad Social at 5:30 on Friday evening. At 6:30 pm Friday, Walt Sturgeon will do a presentation to get us started down the path of mushroom enlightenment. Walt's talk is included in your foray fee, the pizza dinner ( with salads and sides catered by Laurie from Whitegrass) is 10.00.  After that, we'll head home to get a good night's sleep before returning to the fellowship hall at 8:00 am Saturday for guided foray walks - RAIN or SHINE.🌞  (also possibly a shiitake workshop) The afternoon will be filled with mushroom talks, tastings, and a review of the specimens collected, so you can have a comprehensive, hands-on full fungal experience.

FOOD:
We'll be sourcing the fresh and mostly organic ingredients for our tasting Saturday (included in the foray fee), and the optional Pizza & Salad Social Friday ($10) from local farms, including Backbone farm. You can find info on Backbone Farm here. Our tasting will be prepared by Laurie from Whitegrass. She will be cooking a variety of wild mushroom dishes and we guarantee you will not go away hungry. Laurie catered our foray last year and she got rave reviews! We are scaling back a bit this year and lunch will not be offered. Please bring a bag lunch or support one of the local restaurants!
