Yennayer is the first day of Amazigh Year (Berber/Kabyle) used by the Berbers in North Africa. It is celebrated thirteen days after the first day of the calendar year in the Georgian calendar, the opinion that the traditional date is 13 January is very widespread especially in Morocco, Libya and Canary Islands. Whereas in Algeria is 12 January where all the Algerian Families prepare a feast to welcome the New Year.
Officially, on 27 December 2017, Algeria's President decided to recognize Yennayer as a public holiday celebrated on 12 January of every year.
This year Djazair Event is very pleased to invite you to come celebrate its first Yennayer celebration, January 12th 2019 will mark the 2969th year of the Amazigh calendar.
