About Gia Wyre

Songbird Gia Wyre was born in Miami, FL on November 7th, 1972. Gia began singing at the tender age of 5 years old.  Gia was a member of the Miami Girls' Choir of the University of Miami from the ages 9 to 15.  She then began singing all over the nation and became known to the world as the “Songbird.”

 

At the age of 10, she sang at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 1995, Gia also sang for the former President Bill Clinton at a summit held in Miami, Fl.  Gia shared the stage with Billie D. Williams and Tichina Arnold in the stage play “If These Hips Could Talk” (2000-2003). She then worked alongside Kim Fields and Aaron Hall in an annual stage play entitled “I’ll Always Love My Momma." Gia co-starred with Clifton Powell, Demetria McKinney, Robin Givens, and Angela Winbush in “Church Girl” in 2010. In 2012, Gia then co-starred with Terrell Carter in the gospel stage play entitled “Psychward” in Miami, FL.

 

Gia has shared the stage with many gospel greats including Karen-Clarke Sheard, BeBe & CeCe Winans, the late Ron Winans, Douglas Miller, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, Dorothy Norwood and many more. Her stage performances are known to be captivating and soul reaching.  She has been featured in “Sister Sister” Magazine and many more. Described as uplifting, funny, soul-stirring, and anointed, Gia’s sultry style of singing has touched hearts around the country. She is most famously known to many in the community as the “singer with the beautiful spirit and voice.”

 

Gia has been actively involved in church since a little girl.  She currently serves the as the Music Director at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Theo Johnson. She is also the Music/Drama Instructor at Juanita G. Hawkins Academy.

 

A single mother of four boys, she continues to strive and do God's work.  She continues to share her testimony, "God Knows, God Sees, & God Cares." Gia is currently working on her EP Album entitled "Restored & Renewed" and it will be released on June 25, 2017 at her concert, to be held at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, 10701 SW 184th Street, Miami, FL 33157, starting at 6:00 PM.
