Based on the 1946 film, It's A Wonderful Life follows George Bailey, a kind-hearted but deeply frustrated businessman. Throughout his life, he has repeatedly sacrificed his ambitions of traveling the world and building a successful career to take over his family's small building and loan company. By doing so, he prevents his hometown of Bedford Falls from falling into the hands of a ruthless, greedy banker named Mr. Potter. On Christmas Eve, George's uncle accidentally misplaces a massive amount of the company's money, putting George at risk of bankruptcy and prison. Driven to the brink of despair and believing he is worth more dead than alive, George goes to a bridge intending to end his life. Before he can jump, his guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody, intervenes and jumps into the river first, forcing George to rescue him. When George angrily wishes he had never been born, Clarence grants his wish.
