The Kitchen Sink Collective Reviews

The Venue is quaint and perfect for this play.

Very easy to purchase tickets. Nice venue.

The actors did amazing! It was a heavy show but it kept my attention the whole time! Greg “Jimmy” played an amazing part!

Local theater doing classic contemporary works is a WIN/WIN!! A great little theatre where you don’t even have to show your ticket-they already know you’re coming.

Superb acting in a difficult play. The players matched the intensity of the writing.

The Lover was our first Kitchen Sink play. It was a great experience - easy to buy tickets and a wonderful venue. We will definitely look out for more.

Very ambitious play... I saw it on Broadway with Philip Seymour Hoffman and John c. Reilly and still hold fond memories of that production... But Kitchen Sink hit a real home run with theirs! Bravo to the two leads for bringing these two characters to life in Technicolor!

An outstanding performance with incredible production quality and copious and apparent amounts of heart from both the creative team and, of course, the actors themselves. From a brilliant and visually stunning set to the professional-quality acting in a raw American Realism setting, this production is not one to miss!

We had a wonderful experience. We will come again.

I have never been to the Staircase Theatre - very cool venue!!

 High quality indie theatre.

I had a fantastic experience with the kitchen sink collective, the small but incredibly dedicated team behind this production. From the direction to the overall organization, everything felt thoughtfully put together. Satisfied is an understatement.

The Kitchen Sink Collective's presentation of David Mamet's "American Buffalo" was good theatre. The actors engaged one another consistently throughout. To their further credit, they were undistracted by the audience's alternating delight and horror at the story unfolding before them. The intimate venue enhanced everyone's experience of this piece of enlivening live performance.

Terrific performances. Poor air quality i.e. musty.

it was amazing and sad. Real stuff for that era

The actors were fabulous. They were true to their character the entire play.

Terrific, genuine performances. Refreshing to see a young theatre company tackle such challenging productions of historical significance. Like life, many stories do not always have happy endings where all the problems get magically get tied up. Grant Ranalli

This company is SO daring...I can't say how much I admire and am grateful for their constant choice of complex and challenging plays. Stellar and solid acting once again. I'm going back a second time for this one....Bravo!!

we both enjoyed the play. Had difficulty with the access. Needed the elevator ..took it down but couldn't get out. RANG THE BELL AND KNOCKED on the door to no avail. Had to walk down the stairs. Lady there helped get us up the elevator at the end. You advertise the building is accessible..elevator needs clear operating instruction or operator on site. The phone in the elevator works but no contact number visibly posted. I was on the edge of a claustrophobic panic. Hope

Intriguing is the best word for this play. It was well acted. The characters convinced me. The interplay of reality breaking into fantasy, the characters clinging to their fantasy, the passion of the resolution all made for a fine experience of theatre. Bert Radford

That was fantastic! You guys are great. Looking forward to whatever you do next!

 Outstanding

Loved it! The acting, direction and set were all really good. Altogether an entertaining and thought provoking evening.

Very interesting play in a clever setting. Excellent actors.

Loved it.... I'll come to see all productions going forward... After visiting the Kitchen Sink website. I found that all my favorite playwrights were listed as theirs as well! We need more theater that we can really sink our teeth into.... And I have a feeling Kitchen Sink will bring it to us...

The show was immersive, witty, and comical. Anyone with a sibling could relate on some level to the two brothers' shenanigans, including myself. Also, it made me hungry for toast.

Nothing warm and fuzzy about the script. True West, in this tiny theatre - I counted six rows of 11 seats - was a stark intimate look into a tiny slice of the life-long battle between two brothers, polar opposites on the surface, yet each mired in disfunction. They cast exposed this dynamic to us with a clarity. There were clever uses of every inch of the stage and engaging balance among swings of mood. I could go on, but the program seems to limit me to a certain number of

 Very well done - thanks

The performance … exceptional acting, outstanding 2-man show, intense, raw, real life. I loved it!!

Absolutely incredible performances of True West. It's not often you get to witness actors working this hard to bring a story to life in a visceral way. Would highly recommend

 Well done Everyone!

A tactful and exciting production of an underproduced master work. Shepard’s writing is exhilarating and the team navigates it wonderfully, fully diving into the awkward moments but never dropping the pace so that the chaos is believable.

 Loved it.

The young actors did an awesome job. We will watch for similar events in the future.

How thrilling to see Mamet's "American Buffalo" being performed on stage at the Staircase!! Kudos to all three actors who brought this edgy, raw theatre to life. Your skills and understanding of the text were impressive to say the least. Bravo!
