Kettle Moraine Playhouse Reviews

It was so well acted. We loved the talk back for it was so informational.

What a charming, light-hearted production. The staging and lighting challenges were met and added to my overall enjoyment. The selections of music enhanced the experience with subtle (and not so subtle) and punny references. Kudos to the entire cast and crew, and to director Stefanie!

Oh my, what a great performance! The chemistry of the cast was heartwarming and that lent to a hysterical experience! Bravo

Great venue and such talented actors!

had a mixup with our seats last night. We have had the same seats for the last 10 years that we were season ticket holders. And last night we were told we had to sit a row behind where we were.

Great opportunity to see the creativity and acting skills of local performers. All of which were very talented. Very good experience. Local and economical. Better acoustics would help.

 excellent acting....not a great play.

Great venue! I was not able to attend the show because of the plumbing issues. The performance had two of my favorite actresses , so I can only imagine it was a wonderful!!

Very nice venue. A little warm but overall a nice experience.

Show was cancelled due to plumbing issue. Sign out front gave no indication. Had to walk to door to see sign advising cancelation. Rec'd notice via email afterwards that an email was sent, but evidently that failed also. This is for The Roomate on Sunday @ 2pm. Unsure if we can attend the rescheduled date. Extremely disappointed that we may have to miss this show.

Great show. Interesting choice for a show to produce (in a good way). Angie and Julie are friends of mine, and they both did wonderful jobs!

We liked the venue very much.

Slinger would not be a location we'd expect to find a local playhouse. Happy to discover!

 Was okay

Wasn't expecting to leave having a whole new world opened up to me. Thanks for the great performance 🙌 👏

Oh my goodness! Night Sky was a performance not to miss! The subject of aphasia was presented in the most professional and accurate manner . Heathers portrayal of Anna was outstanding! The opportunity to educate the public about aphasia was captured so well in the performance as well as the talk back. Thank you

Interesting play, very well performed. Difficult topic but accurately portrayed. Heather’s and John’s voices were absolutely amazing too bad they didn’t finish the song. Kezi did an excellent job. Great start to the season.

Really great actors in this show

 Didn’t want it to end!

The acting was outstanding but I thought the script was weak and repetitive in places. Cudos to the young woman who played the daughter !

This was a fabulous show. It reminded me not to take simple things for granted. The actors were amazing as usual.

The actors did an amazing job. We do wish the intermissions were shorter.

Very good acting especially lead actress who was excellent! Both male and female leads had excellent singing voices. Would have been great with more of that throughout the play.

 Hard to follow. Too confusing.

Didn’t actually see this one; but heard it was fantastic!

I enjoyed this show greatly! There were several places when I laughed out loud. It was lots of fun!

Very entertaining. Maybe the best of the season.

Was this supposed to be entertaining or funny? It was neither. We wanted to leave during intermission but knew it would be insulting to the performers. Not only was the play incredibly disappointing but we had to sit through the entire first half with cold air blasting on us.

 It was hilarious!!!

 Funny and entertaining!

 Very funny

 Great..Hilarious..Enjoyed every minute!!

It was a funny play script! Enjoyed the experience.

I didn't enjoy this performance due to the frequency of sexual innuendos and profanity in practically every scene. I was expecting a nice comedy and was really disappointed. We've attended several other plays in past years and always enjoyed them. Suggestion: maybe list a more accurate description of the content of the play on your advertisement.

Always a wonderful experience watching the KMP players! Such a great, intimate venue.

Loved loved loved this play!! It was funny and , entertaining .. a play within a play. What a fun cast and set of characters. The actors seemed to enjoy them self’s doing this play as much as I enjoyed watching!

absolutely loved this play and the actors did a fabulous job. Very thought provoking in a comical way.

great director and cast. The script itself didn't resonate with me. Says a lot of how well they did for me to care.

My favorite show at the Playhouse so far. Well done!

What an entertaining blend of humor and pathos!

Very pleasantly surprised with the production of “Life Sucks”. The cast was intelligent and talented, but especially enjoyed Rob, Michael, and Peter in their roles. Won’t be in town for “Crooked” but glad to find another quality local theater group.

This play was definitely unique and posed a clever way to ask life's most existential question--does life suck/does my life matter? While there are moments of humor, I would not call this a comedy at all. Expecting humor underscores the presentation as an opportunity to contemplate one's own life.

Saw it Friday night. Biting, witty, sardonic, and off-putting in a wonderful way . Incredible performances all around. What a story, and what an incredible cast. This reminded me how much I enjoy theater. Go see this show.

The show was great, we loved it! Everyone was so talented and the play was well done. This was our first time here, we’ll definitely be back again!

A wonderfully acted show with a message that’s just as relevant today as when Chekhov wrote the original. The characters were beautiful and relatable in their flaws, crassness, and craziness.

Well done! We enjoyed it very much!

Clever, compelling, challenging, charming... Performed with heart by a strong cast. Really glad I got to experience this!

 Riveting.

Recently took our family to see The Maltese Falcon playing at the KMP. Such a wonderful production. The cast was amazing and brought this film noir piece to life. Wilber, the "yute", was exceptionally fantastic!

Loved it. Very cleverly done on a very small stage. Great talent for an all-volunteer organization (or otherwise!)

even without an indoor bathroom, ha! It was a great experience, I enjoyed it very much.

Kettle Moraine Playhouse delivered an atmospheric production of The Maltese Falcon, successfully transporting the audience into Dashiell Hammett’s gritty, noir world with shadowy, fog-filled staging and authentic period costumes. The focus on suspense and raw dialogue captured the vibe of this classic story, honoring the noir themes of cunning, deception, and greed. I thoroughly enjoyed The Maltese Falcon by Kettle Moraine Playhouse!

Excellent performance! This play was unusual for the KM playhouse in that it had a LOT of set changes! Very well done by all and can't wait to see what they have planned next!

I hadn't seen the movie before and I don't think I need to. The Playhouse delivered all of the emotions, nuisance, and story so I swept back into the time and could sit back and enjoy. They did so much, so creatively, within the space!

 A mistake. I didn't see this play

Great musicians, v good actors. This kind of performance for a 1908 production might have been great for a Sunday afternoon in that era. It really fell flat for me in 2026.

KMP's intimate space was a perfect venue for "The Soldier's Tale" and the performance was riveting. Cheers to the actors and Kettle Moraine Symphony musicians who ably and energetically performed this difficult piece.

The musicians were extraordinary. Loved the music. I felt the story line was a bit muddled, but especially enjoyed the performance of the devil!! Well done!

We appreciated the unique experience. Both my husband and I knew the March section of the music, as we had to conduct that part for a conducting exam while working through our Music Education degrees at UW-Whitewater about 50 years ago, and play the music when not conducting. But, we knew nothing about the story behind the writing of it or the story of the play, or at least we didn't remember it. We enjoyed the actors, dancer, and thought that the ensemble was fabulous.

Very unique play. We liked the mix of music, actors and dancer. The cast and orhcestra

 Fabulous!

great story line and great acting

We continue to be amazed at our local talent!! Jovon and Susan did an incredible, totally believable job. Neither the weather nor the porta potties could keep us away from KMP! We'll be back.

Jovon was very believable - well casted! Susan's repetitive mugging (eye rolling) needs work. Her laugh was great!

The two ladies did a fantastic job in The Roommate

Wonderful performance by both actresses. Their portrayal of the characters sucked the entire audience into the show. We found ourselves feeling the emotions right along with the actors. Heartfelt, funny and thought provoking. Javon killed it (again)!!

Loved the play. Acting was superb and kept the audience captive. A great night of entertainment.

The actresses were believable in their presentation. Would have been fun to have a 30 minute social to discuss what the potential outcomes could have been.

Amazing performances by two outstanding actors. A must see.

 The play was Awesome!!

We found it interesting but did not like the lack of moral compass.

A rather unusual story but the actors were incredible. Not just in the dialogue but in their facial expressions, how they delivered the dialogue, and their body language. Great job from everyone involved.

Susan Martin and Jovon Serrano are electric in The Roommate, bringing razor-sharp wit, emotional depth, and gripping unpredictability to Jen Silverman’s intriguing script. Under Christy Miceli’s superb direction, the production crackles with tension and humor. You'll be thinking and talking about this play long after the curtain. The Roommate is bold, smart theatre — fantastic!

 Fun, fun, fun!

 Enjoyed!

Great great show!!! The actors were amazing!!! Laughed & laughed & laughed!!!! We all loved it 🩷🩷🩷!!!!

 Loved the performance!!!! Laughed continuously.

It was okay. More of a variety show.

Lots of laughs! Good time and wonderfully done. Highly recommend! We will be back.

I would see it every year. Hilarious!

 It was great!

it was so entertaining. The performance was so well acted and very impressive. We loved it.

Hilarious and fun...didn't know what to expect. Loved the interaction with the audience and it kept us on our feet the whole show. And it didn't hurt when I won the 50/50 raffle.

We drove over an hour from Hales Corners and it was well worth it- professionally done and so much fun! I’ve already recommended it to friends. We’ll be back!

Loved it. They all did a fantastic job.

Great show, great job guys! It was absolutely hilarious!!!! Thanks again for another wonderful performance 👏

I’m sorry, but this was the worst play I’ve ever seen.

 Great! Really funny!

 Enjoyed!

 Very good acting.

 Excellent show.

This was truly one of my favorites. It is an creative indictment about where we are as a population of humans who have come to rely on cell phones--and wonder what has happened to our "relationships." I would have gone to see it a second time if I could.

Great cast. Fantastic quirky show. I loved the introduction by the director which brought great context to the show and was beautifully delivered. I had no issue with the language or talk of sex; I do remember reading it was a show for adults. I highly recommend.

Loved this play, the acting and the Edward Hopper atmosphere of the play. Play’s central theme very timely with the loneliness and disconnection that exists despite the fact that we seem to be attached to our phones with an umbilical cord.

This play was funny, thought provoking, and endearing. The cast was great! Scene changed were flawless. Thank you!

The acting was great but the show itself was not my favorite. It was a good message but too conceptual. My husband did not like it at all. He said it was confusing and weird.

 As always it was wonderful!

Interesting story...very entertaining and incredibly well done! Never stop being impressed with the quality of the performance from the Kettle Moraine Playhouse and its actors/actresses!

It was an interesting story. We thought the actors did an amazing job. Always love coming to your theater

As always, the actors did a fine job. The play seemed lacking--hard to find a point to it. We enjoyed the theater experience but did not care for the play itself.

 Funny! Very funny!

So Much fun. Some Surprising New Faces! Awesome Talent!

 Great show. Fantastic actors!

Wonderful. We are new to the area and will be coming to more!

Timing of jokes could be improved; otherwise, we enjoyed the play

We enjoyed the play so much. The cast was fun and amazing at the same time. Well definitely be back 🙂

 Very well produced event.

Good story line but players need more acting experience.

Great ensemble cast all very talented!

It was funny. The storyline was redundant and performance too long. The acting was superb as always !

I enjoyed the show, plenty of laughs and giggles.

 As always, fantastic!
