   The ticketing on the internet especially with the Escondido venue was impossible!!! I gave up hope when I saw the $180 - $240 range for tickets. I doubt many folks have that kind of money in these crucial economic times!!! My husband thought it would be a good idea/incentive to offer BOGOF or 5for5 to incentivize people to bring friends and hopefully built the opera base locally!

   My 1st opera in a long time. Very enjoyable! The performances were excellent and the orchestra did an outstanding job. Well done!

   I found the "narration" in English to be a nice addition, yet I still would have liked the subtitles .

   My husband and I have been fans of the Pacific Lyric Opera for several years and always enjoy their productions!

   Great show supporting a good cause and local artists!

   I wish Pacific Lyrics Opera could afford to have more operas. What talent! Great performs from the singers to the orchestra! Emily Weinberg was wonderful! Such a voice and talent. We really enjoyed ourselves. Can’t wait until next time!

   Wonderful performance. Totally enjoyed the talented singers and drama. Especially appreciated the narration in English.

   Amazing amazing production ! The cast was incredible. The only thing that threw me during the performance was the narration of the opera. I found it distracting and not true to the original opera. But everyone was truly fantastic and I enjoyed the performance so much.

   Okay guys: The voices were okay with some hints of brilliance. Michaelea’s aire was phenomenal. Carmen, not pushing the upper ranges, was very good, the toreador was great, Din Jose so so. Some peripheral members also provided some wonderful music. The orchestra was very, very good, surprised us. Criticism. - the directing lacked imagination. Much to much just standing in a line and blasting. Move them darn it, and get Carmen dark hair, she’s not Brunhilda.

   Glorious voices, wonderful acting, and beautiful sets. What more could you ask for? Several friends attended with me who had never seen a PLA performance, and they were wowed! Bravissimo!

   Nice small venue. We could see and hear everything beautifully.

   PHENOMENAL! Great cast, amazing talent!

   I do not speak French so I would have preferred the supertitles like past Opera Performances I have seen at Opera Houses and San Diego Civic Theatre. Sometimes the orchestra, which was outstanding, drowned out the performers. Perhaps the performers should be wearing microphones. The performers did an excellent job in their roles. Did not think the Flamenco dancer was relevant. It would have been better if there was a more advanced Flamenco dancer in the role.

   Fantastic rendition. Singers were magnificent and costumes too! Also loved the flamenco dancer
