 the event was good very disappointing that there was no bouncy castles etc for the kids this year I thought there could have been way more for the kids to do and wasnt the case. Also two hundred people in the campsite and only 4 functioning toilets. Very poor set up

 entertainment was abit disorganized

  I think everything was well planned but didn't all fall into place. I would've liked to have seen the competition of the longest boerewors. I was looking forward to the tug of war which didn't take place. Music wasn't the best this year, too much talking from the dj, I've seen better over the years. I camp and it was the worst. If I could rate on that I'd give 2 star. The noise and music didn't stop till 4 in the morning. We had a child with us and no one slept

 Great vibe but food sold out quickly and there weren’t really enough stalls! Qued for 1 hours to be told the boerie rolls are sold out and qued another 1.5 hour to actually get a boerie roll. Kids entertainment was minimal and this that was there closed early. But good efforts team! Keep it going and make it bigger next year!  We had the absolute best day with all the Saffas. Brought my Irish boyfriend along and he got lost in the South African spirit. It was electric from the minute we got out of the car. Thank you for a wonderful day.

 I am in Ireland 11 months and this was my first SA gathering. This really felt like home. It was just amazing and there was "THE GEES" !!!!

 Great event, things which would be great to improve on: Entertainment-more live music. Rugby-play rugby audio through the main audio system. Camping-allow vehicles on camp site (car is used for storage). Family Camping- could you create a family freindly camping zone? Quiet/Softer zone after midnight? Nice ablution facilites, clean!

 Was a nice sunny day and enjoyed the culture and food experience. Enjoyed relaxing with no drama

 The concept is great. I won't be back next year however. I queued 1.5 hours for a boerewors roll, and gazebos were allowed way too close to the screen for the rugby - blocking a lot of the view. The market was wonderful, but the bar was very cluttered. Again - great concept, but the layout was slightly clunky and disjointed.

 Always the same. It needs to be changed up abit. A lot of people are not attending because of this.

 It was great, but there could've been more food at the food stals, more fun things for kids to do, like a treasure hu8nt....or something. Overall, with the weather, it was just wonderful. Thank you

 Great parking very helpful staff might be great fun to get a South African artist or 2 I would sure pay a bit more to see a bok van blerk Robbie Wessels Refentse snotkop or someone like that that represents the south African "gees"

 South african gathering is always an amazing event, been to the event from day one. Kids entainment was great. Thanks Berilyn and her team for an amazing day.

 Overall, a lovely time, gorgeous venue. Really appreciated the children's entertainment as it kept even young kids busy for hours, and they had so much fun. However, I would have liked to have seen more stalls & variety at the event, like the 2022 event, which we attended last.

 The music was not the best for me, and crowd interaction started to fade out. I think the MC could’ve had some more support- having numerous activities. Other then that it was great to see other SAFFAS.

 Well organised, however disappointed that the vetkoek was sold out before 2pm given the organisers knew how many people would be attending and the event wasn't due to end for several hours. Also found it unbelievable that no pannekoek was sold which is something you would find at an SA event of any kind. Good selection of products otherwise.

 A very well organised event - so great to connect with other SAs and welcome new members . So enjoyed the DJ and the artists. Tasty home treats

 The event certainly seems to be getting better each year. The entertainment and games were super. Not sure if I missed the stall but it would be nice to have more African art and south african paraphernalia like flags, hats, bokke shirts etc. Again the african Queens I think...singing...were fab!! Tug of war was so much fun. Still felt like there could have been more bins, walked around with trash looking for bins...could be me just missing them...

 Could have had a better sound system and a nice band in the afternoon to fill in the gaps

 The vibe was underrated considering the Bokke smashed the All Blacks earlier this was something that should been cause for celebration but it was more of a soggy picnic and an opportunity to sell goods and food at an inflated rate. A no from me and anyone who asks me about it would get the same respones! Do better, regulate pricing and get better entertainment.

 The event was truly spectacular. I just wish they played a wider range of music such amapiano.

 The staff were incredibly helpful, and the food vendors, artists, and DJ were all outstanding. It was truly special to see so many South Africans come together in one place to celebrate and enjoy the event. The DJ kept the energy high—everyone was on their feet, dancing, and having an amazing time.

 Great location. Live music would make the event so much better.

 I believe the event was scheduled too late in the year, and the unfavorable weather conditions were also a contributing factor.

 The big screen venue could not accommodate more people. The music could have stayed on to entertain other individuals who were not watching rugby. If it becomes an annual venue the route from the parking to the function site can be paved to avoid the muddy conditions that occurred after the rains.

 Overall a great event with a variety of stalls. I would possibly suggest a larger marquee tent to allow more people to watch the rugby match and also double up as a seating area for people before the match. I might also suggest more toilet facilities for campers and even a small wash up area. I would be happy to pay a few extra euro for these facilities.

 .... took a fall on the very uneven ground through the camp site. I also found it difficult to locate a particular stall that I had pre-ordered some tasty treats from and unfortunately had forgotten my phone in the car, so when I did find them they had sold my pre orderd goods (The signage was on the table front and blocked by people at the stall). The ques for all the delicious South African foods were also very long and slow moving.

 It's always an amazing event. My family go every year.Hope next year we can camp for 2 nights instead of just 1 night. Can't wait for next year.

 Accessiblity is an issue.

 Couldn’t watch the rugby game as the tent was not only too small but the screen was so dull, we could barely see anything. Hardly any music played aside from the live band which was great. Extremely long lines for food. Underwhelming for our first time at this event.

 Amazing day out, unfortunately the weather wasn't the best this year but that did not dampen anyone's day as everyone still made the most of it, smiles all around and a bonus to have shown the SA V ireland game. Great organisation and well done to all involved.

 Went last year and enjoyed it, this year the grass was very long and very difficult to move around with a lot of stuff including wheelchairs and prams. The stalls and the music packed up far too early, people were still arriving and getting settled. We didn't get to experience anything we came there for, it was very dissapointing. I really appreciate all the effort that goes into organising such an event but unfortunately this year a lot of things were not okay

 The only downside is that we were unable to see the rugby match. The tent was so full and people were standing on top of each other to try and see the screen.

 The venue was great, the markets were varied and lovely. Unfortunately weather wasn't favourable, we left for a bit and came back around 6ish and everything was packed up, food and market stalls which was a shame. Also on the website they said not to bring anything but everyone else brought gazebos, food drink and chairs into the venue which was implied on the website that this wasn't allowed. Its a great idea and great venue but sadly the weather and ill info prevailed.

 It's always good to get together. This year though was a little disappointing in regards to the music set up not being able to be heard unless you were at the tent, likewise not being able to hear the rugby. Also annoyed at being charged the recycle fee on the red ales despite them not being a part of the recycle scheme. Despite those, the stall set up and team organisation was excellent.

 Excellent overall experience at Mountain View event, however, more toilets, showers and electricity should be available for weekend getaways.

 This was my first gathering, I had quite high expectations as I'd heard from a friend who loved it. The food was great and the venue is absolutely stunning, the musicians were not great, it was a bit embarrassing even, I do you know who it was but he just stopped midway, complained his fingers were sore, and that was that. Overall it was alright.

 Once again it was an amazing event and with the added bonus of perfect weather.

 Fabulous event. Location, entertainment, shops were great. We were camping there for the first time, and would be perfect, but some other campers were very loud until early morning hours, as 3am and kept us and many other people awake. With so many families camping, this needs to be better organised next time. Also was not enough toilets and they were very dirty. Lack of sinks, only showers on site.

 2022 was much better. In 2023: 1. Food ran out quickly. 2. Too few stalls. 3. The bar was a complete disaster. Cannot believe it! 4. Walking to though the entrance was not suitable for disabled people. Shame on you!

 Badly prepared. You could have done so much more than the couple of stalls you had. I would also have expected a large screen to for the rugby. They couldn’t even get the to in the bar to work. Boerewors was rerrible as was the drowwors

 As per usual the event was brilliant. The venue was superb and lots to do and see and off course. The food was amazing from all different vendors, who had so many options Well done to the organisers, the weather was also on point. Bring on the next one

 I was the mc amazing loved it..

 Some vegetarian food options would have been nice….as the only vendor selling veg option (curry) left after failing an inspection I was left with no other choice except chips I think there was a stall selling chips but it finished. So for next gathering would be nice to have vegetarians catered for or I will be prepared and take something for myself. Maybe I was the only veggie person there 🤷🏻‍♀️

 We were very disappointed by the event this year especially because we were so looking forward to attending. The venue was very crowded (not much space to move around), not much Covid protocols followed. There were only 2 food stalls serving food. At some point card machines were not working and cash had to be used. The event in 2019 was much better organised.

 Fantastic day, live music and food was great. The Camping facilities were clean, we had a really great time.

 I don't mean to complain but I've done a couple of events like this back in SA and realuse it's difficult pleasing everyone. In my opinion charge a little more and pull off a better event... see above points.

 5 Stars - well organised. We had a great time - thank you.

 We thought the stalls and food etc. was very good and the day was well organised however not having hotel/apartments (we are not happy campers) on site (as you did last year), meant that we had to leave relatively early and did not get to enjoy the festivities like we did last year. Also, if we had known before hand, we would have brought camping chairs/blanket to sit on. More tables etc. were needed. We did however enjoy the day.
