Finally we are back to having some dances and community sharing on the dance floor of our lovely hall. 3 years after our last NYE event, we are bringing the funk with Downtown Mischief from Victoria. We had them as a headliner on the first night of the Blackberry Jam, and with such a great response and barn stomping that threatened to take out the floor, we knew they would be the ones to bring in the new year here on the rock. They are a mixture of funk, hip hop, jazz, and soul, with 7 members on stage and a whole lot of energy.

Together they form a unique collective of musicians who met through the raw energy of Friday night jam parties. They have since evolved through a fluctuating community of members and friends to form a driving, pulsing machine that explodes with life on stage. An adventurous west coast lifestyle fuels their inspiration and it is apparent in their music. This emerging band will not only captivate you with their beats, smiles and words, but get you moving and grooving on the dance floor!
DJ’s Lighting, Co Captain, and Eliazar will be picking up the slack before, between, and after the 2 sets from the band. Doors are at 8:30 and the band starts at 9:30. The show is all ages and will have a bar. We will be setting up the back hall with some things more focused for the kids -
snacks, games, etc for when they get bored of us adults dancing. If you want to bring any fun ideas or games for the back hall please get in touch. Tickets will be for sale at Abraxas and the General Store on December 1st - so you can get tickets for your friends and family for the holidays:) Tickets are $25 in advance, $5 for teens, and kids are free. This show is brought to you by DIRCS, and its new board that continues to keep the community hall functioning and full of activities for the foreseeable future.
