The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald- adaptation by VH alum Maeve Z
This incredible adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel is true to the original story while bringing forward themes of gender and socio-economic equity. The story is told through the eyes of Nick who rents a cottage on the grounds of Jay Gatsby, a rich socialite recently returned to the community. Jay’s attempts to woo former lover Daisy away from her husband prove fruitless. While the book was designed to be a social commentary of the time, its themes are forever a fabric of humanity. Audiences will have much to discuss after the surprise ending. Please note, there is a murder-suicide depicted on stage, so this is appropriate for an audience 12+.
