In 1974 Volunteer Speedway opened its gates to race fans for the very first time. Over the next five decades the four-tenths mile speedway would establish itself as one of the most popular dirt tracks in all of the United States. Calling the small town of Bulls Gap, TN home, Volunteer Speedway developed a nickname used by fans and drivers from all over, and today - 50 years later - Volunteer Speedway is known by most as "The Gap". There have been no shortage of ups and downs for Volunteer Speedway, as many owners and promoters have come and gone throughout the track's five-decades-long existence, but in 2024 "The Gap" will open its gates once more to drivers and race fans.

The pit stalls are sure to be full and the grandstands will likely be teeming with life as the roar of high octane engines rip around the high banks of Volunteer Speedway. We hope you're there with us as we celebrate the Gap's 50th year of racing!
