Famous, award-winning comedian, Roger Kabler, is bringing his sell-out show, The Ultimate Robin Williams Tribute Experience, to The Roseland, for his first ever SouthCoast/Southeastern Massachusetts area performance on Friday, May 5th 2017! YES...CINCO DE MAYO!! Do NOT miss this show!
Kabler has not only impersonated Robin Williams throughout his lengthy career as an impressionist, he also starred in a sitcom on NBC which drew comparisons to the late comedian. So when Robin Williams died in August, 2014, Kabler was asked to perform a tribute to the beloved Williams, in December, 2014, after much thought, Kabler performed his tribute show to a sold out crowd in California! Kabler also performed tbe tribute in Los Angeles, in front of an audience full of Hollywood's elite, including Cindy Williams (from Laverne & Shirley) who came up to Kabler at the end of the show & told him, "My God, I felt like Robin was in the room!"
In addition to playing sold-out audiences across the nation, Kabler has a vast & lengthy career in comedy & show business! From off-Broadway plays to cabaret acts to stand up comedy in all the big clubs in New York City and Atlantic City; Kabler has done it all!! In 1991, as he was climbing the ladder to celebrity status, Carol Burnett hired Kabler as a regular on her TV show. And then, in 1992, NBC gave Kabler a starring role in his own show, "Rhythm & Blues," catapulting Kabler to "one of the Top 5 people to watch" according to the Los Angeles Times. Kabler was also the national spokesman for Zima Clearmalt, appearing in many TV commercials for the malt beverage.
Kabler has also had success on the big screen too! He starred in a few movies you may not have heard of, such as "Alien Space Avenger" or "Alligator Eyes;" and he has also had roles in several popular movies, such as "Tales from the Crypt," "Clueless," "Pacific Blue" and "Cybil". His last movie, before moving back to the east coast, was a starring role in "Who the Hell is Bobby Roos?" which won the New American Cinema Award at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2002.
Rounding out his career, Kabler was also involved in several televised competitions for his incredible impersonations. In the TV show, "The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?", Kabler placed 10th ouf of thousands of contestants for his impersonation of Robin Williams. Kabler has also appeared on a reality show in England, "Lookalikes" as Robert DeNiro.
Roger Kabler may have never met Robin Williams, but he clearly embodies William's spirit, manic high energy and endearing qualities on stage better than anyone you will ever see! And Kabler recently learned (from mutual friends), that Williams had not only seen Kabler's impressions, but really admired them very much! Such an honor to hear, for someone who has dedicated so much of his life to Robin Williams! He has been impersonating Robin Williams since the days of "Mork & Mindy," and it is clear from Kabler's performance that he holds Williams very near & dear to his heart & soul. The Ultimate Robin Williams Tribute Experience has been playing & selling out venues on a regular & repeat basis...even having to turn away hundreds at the door at times, due to over capacity crowds!
