Oakland Theatre Arts Guild Reviews

 Amazing

Starlight is such a wonderful place! Love watching my granddaughters, and the other kids grow in theatre!

Cute theater with polite and helpful staff. The kids are involved with running the venue (ushering, cleaning, etc) which I think is fantastic. Great overall experience and we will be back.

Such a great show! And this was my daughter’s first lead at starlight, and it just made it so much better of an experience! Hope she gets more lead roles in the future!

***** It is a great time. And everyone is so friendly and accommodating*****

It is a very cute theater!

 Excellent

 The show

Awesome show! Great to see all the talented young individuals!

The website is not very user-friendly.

I loved the show! My grandson Jack played Prince Eric. He did an amazing job!

 Awesome show!

kids did a fantastic job!!! Got the email about the show 6 hours before showtime, that was rough. I need more notice please

It was a great show.. the kids are super talented We are so glad we found starlight and auditioned for it. Selina had a fantastic time Thank you for giving her a great experience from start to finish. We will definitely be back.

 GREAT PERFORMANCE!

I enjoyed the show, I will be checking out future shows

Acting, singing, sets and props were all great!

I loved it! The performances were fantastic. Especially the young lady who played Mary Poppins

entertaining and well produced, as always

Unfortunately, microphones and speakers were not working properly. Terrible electronic snaps and cracks throughout the performance. Otherwise, hats off to the young performers and crew!

 Always have an amazing time!

The show was fantastic! Have to give credit to everyone, and all of the work that goes into it was truly impressive. Well done!

Sorry did not make the performance....too cold and very bad weather, heard it was a great performance !!! Thanks for all you do !

It was spectacular! This is the most charming theater filled with Joy and love! The kids were outstanding! I loved the production!

This was one of my least favorites from the theatre, we’ve been to many and this one for some reason just didn’t do it for me. Also- when there’s no heat and it’s negative out, you should reschedule, all we heard the whole time was people mostly grandparents freezing, we never warmed up the whole time.

The theater is so cute and the play was really good! You can tell how passionate everyone is about theater and the audience was fully engaged.

 Awesome performance!!

Please mic the actors. Very difficult to hear them. If you don't have enough for all, at least mic the main ones. I know these are kids learning to be on stage but many talk too fast. Having said all that, I love Starlight's commitment to the kids, so many opportunities to grow.

 Always have an amazing time!

Dorothy was amazing but would have loved yo hear HER sing more. As for the theater, absolutely terrible. Ticket machine was down, now heat, and now water!

It was my 4yo daughter's first experience watching a live performance. She was smiling ear to ear the whole time. The kids did a fantastic job!

The kids all did an amazing job. Sophie was incredible as Elsa and loved all their costumes. These kids give it their all and it shows. Ollie was great as usual. Till next time!

Very well done. The kids spoke a bit more slowly and could be understood, costumes were wonderful, I like the video sets, much easier than needing fly space and dropping scenery.Great idea, whoever thought it up. Tom, you are a great director, and your theater is very nice. I wish it was easier to get into the lobby after the show, but I understand that space is quite limited.

wonderful show. Enjoyed very much. Such talented youngsters!!!

Frozen Jr was an amazing performance. It was obviously that the cast were well trained and gave 100% to their performance. The costumes, props and scenery were very impressive.

 We love Starlight!

What a lovely performance! I would definitely return for another performance!

Wizard of Oz was excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The cast worked so hard, it was evident throughout. The theater is such a fun experience and great treats for those that needed a little snack. We'll be back.

The show itself was great and the costumes were gorgeous!

Great performance with a large and various cast

Wonderful & Fun show!! Great seats.

All of the kids did a great job! Everyone looked like they were having fun, which made it fun for the audience. All the cast and crew should be very proud to have put on a great show.

Loved it! Lead actress was AMAZING 👏

 Great show!

 Always have an amazing time!

 Excellent

It was nice to see all the kids having a good time. I wish that some of them would have spoken a little slower because their lines were lost.

 Always have an amazing time!

 Great production as always

Play was excellent and kids did fantastic.

Very sweet and nicely talented youg boys and girls! Emjoyable Sunday afternoon.

Love the shows here. Seeing young people learning to overcome fear and perform in public is a joy.

It was my wife and I first time coming here. It was different for us to do something like this and we weren’t disappointed. Thank you for such a great show!

 we enjoyed every moment.

Moana Jr was our first performance and we really enjoyed it. The whole show was fun and the performers did an amazing job and were very professional. We will be back!

Cute show and the kids did well

Incredible! Our first time attending and I couldn't have been more pleased. A community gem! Look forward to returning often.

Once again great early evening! Great theme incorporated with these performances showing anything is possible reach for it!!!

 Great set backdrops!

I really enjoy how you involve so many kids and encourage them to give such great performances.

I couldn’t understand very many of the children speaking. Too quiet or mumbled too quickly. My 4 seats were by a big trash can on the left front row, as you looked at the stage. A lot of the scenes were blocked by too many children in the cast on the left of the stage, so we couldn’t see the manger or what was happening on the center of the stage. We all were very disappointed that these seats were available for sale. They should have been blocked for this performance.

 It was amazing

Such an amazing show! Great job all!

So entertaining and well put together. I’m always impressed with the shows you put on! The children - and in this case the adults, too - really seemed to enjoy themselves!

 Loved it!

Well done. Kids looked liked they were enjoying themselves, yet being professional Liked the casual and friendly atmosphere of the theater.

 Girl Scout invited us

What a powerful performance from the Actress that played Joan. Love this theater!

My review: 12/10--The cast was phenomenal. At times, I found myself immersed in the scene on stage and forgot I was watching a play. THERE IS A SWORD FIGHT! I laughed, cried, and connected with Joan’s strength and persistence- I left inspired. Charles the Dauphin was such a dynamic character in an otherwise dark story.

Need to replace seats row G

Loved Willie Wonka! All the characters were amazing

Well done! It’s amazing how quickly this show happened - well organized! Excellent singing, stage presence! Love what this theatre does for children

Fabulous event. The students and cast were SIMPLY AWESOME

 It was awesome!!!

It was great! The kids did a wonderful performance. Staff were pleasant. The theater is small enough that you can see the stage well no matter what seat you are in.

Amazing performance.....costumes, makeup and so enjoyable !!! Thank you for everyone who participates !!!!

Very nice and well done. Had never been before will be back. Room was abit hot. Thermostat set at 76!!!

 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ what a delightful evening

Very impressed with Fiddler on the Roof! One of my favorites and they did a great job! Did not disappoint!

Great performance but very long. It would be helpful to state the length of the performance somewhere or the acts in the play bill. It was too long for my little one who I always take to your plays.
