Saida Chowdhury is a Birmingham based Poet who published her first poetry collection, ‘Broken Minds- Volume 1’ in September 2025 by Hugh Ashton of j-views Publishing after twenty years of writing and finally finding her voice in late November 2024.

This event will tell you of her journey, those that have supported her and her fascination with ‘Kintsugi’ in Volume 1, the Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery using molten gold to accentuate the cracks.  Saida attempts to apply this philosophy to human trauma, physical and emotional scars and the need to come together to learn, heal and grow. She recognises that the need to remove the stigma about talking about mental health still exists.

There will be readings from Volume 1 and a sneaky peek into Volume 2.
