Moving Your Ticketor Site to Your Domain

This video and article show you how to get a fully branded, white-label experience with Ticketor, by moving your Ticketor site to your own domain like MyBusiness.com or a subdomain like ticket.MyBusiness.com, or BoxOffice.MyBusiness.com or any other subdomain.

The address of your Ticketor site is by default www.Ticketor.com/[Your Business Name] and every page, event or product you add to the site will have an address that starts with this address.

However, for a fully branded, white-label experience, you can move the site to your own domain like MyBusiness.com or a subdomain like ticket.MyBusiness.com, or BoxOffice.MyBusiness.com or any other subdomain.

To move the site to your domain, you should first own the domain or purchase your desired domain from a domain registrar of your choice such as GoDaddy.com

The domain or sub-domain is just a name that can point to a certain server. To have Ticketor on your domain or sub-domain, you should point your domain or sub-domain to Ticketor’s server and so when the users browse to that domain or subdomain, they will be served from Ticketor’s server.

Obviously, each domain or subdomain can only point to one server and you cannot have 2 servers on one domain or subdomain

If you do not have any website on your domain or you want to replace your existing website with your Ticketor website, you can point your domain to Ticketor and have your domain load your Ticketor site. It will simply replace any potential existing site on your domain.

However, if your domain is already used for a website and you want to keep it that way, you can use Ticketor on a sub-domain of your choice such as [any name]. MyBusiness.com

Note that when you point the domain to Ticketor’s server, all your email addresses in that domain or sub-domain are also handled by Ticketor and you can create and manage email addresses from you Control Panel > Account & Settings > Site Settings. However, if you want to use another system or your existing email provider, that can also be done by setting your MX records. Contact your support engineer for help with that.

To move the site to your domain or sub-domain, you should use Control Panel > Account & Settings > Site Settings and follow the instruction there.

As part of the process, you need to log in to your domain registrar and set your nameservers to pint to Ticketor. That is done by setting your NS records or “CName” records. After your domain is set to point to Ticketor’s servers, then you will set the name of the domain or subdomain that you want to move the site to.

Ticketor validates that your domain or nameserver is actually correctly pointing to our server and then moves the site to the domain and install SSL certificate to make the site secure.

Your site will be available on your domain in minutes.
